  4.     DIED. Eve Arden, 82, comedian of stage, screen and
  5. television best remembered for her TV portrayal of the sardonic
  6. but sympathetic teacher in Our Miss Brooks, for which she won
  7. a 1953 Emmy; in Beverly Hills. Arden made her Broadway debut
  8. with the 1934 edition of Ziegfeld Follies. Sketching character
  9. roles in films from Stage Door in 1937 to Grease 2 in 1982, she
  10. got an Oscar nomination for her supporting work as Joan
  11. Crawford's worldly-wise pal in 1945's Mildred Pierce.
